Etsy Team Columbus
I joined the Etsy Team Columbus, this week, and you will find my bio on the blog, Etsy Team Columbus ! I asked to join them because they seem like an active group and they are local. I think that it will be nice to interact with some people face-to-face from Etsy! I'm sure the more experienced people (to me, that's everyone!) will have some great pointers for someone with a new store like me! I'm looking forward to meeting the team at the next meeting!

The Dancer ::for sale!::
Mmm... New Design... Tasty.
I'm making this for my Etsy store. Yay! This will be cut out of silver and hung on a silver chain. This was inspired by my love of lines from dance and fashion drawing.

Finished Class Project!
I soldered the bezel (the piece of silver that goes around the stone) in class last week, cut out the pendant piece on my own, and soldered the bezel onto the pendant in class today! Setting stones is pretty fun... I think I'll do it again in my next class project. For my next project, I'm going to be making the chain as well as the pendant! Woah! The chain starts out as sterling silver wire... yikes! I'm excited to eventually have a necklace that's all handmade!
My plan is to keep all of the things that I make in my class (not try to sell them), sort of as portfolio pieces. I may eventually give them away, though!

Lucky Charms **for sale!**
I have two pairs of horseshoe earrings for sale and two horseshoe pendants for sale in my Etsy store, MollyStuff. Everything is handcrafted sterling silver (sold seperately).
Rhythm
I think I've found a rhythm! I work on the designing of jewelry on Monday mornings and go to class in the afternoons. Then on Thursdays I can make what I designed on Monday. I think that as long as I keep doing this, I'll be able to get a nice little selection for my Etsy store.

My New Etsy Bio!
I'm an industrial design grad from the University of Cincinnati, where I enjoyed illustrating, producing concepts, and making models. I worked for some great corporations where I got experience in finding what products people want/need and making them. I loved it but I wasn't exactly sure what to do after school!
After getting my product design degree and attempting to find my niche in the design world, I decided to go back to my roots and my love for jewelry. I learned how to make jewelry back in high school art classes and I'm continuing to learn today.
I make simple jewelry but I hope that it has an elegance to it that comes from my background in mass-produced goods. I am trained in expanding my design options and narrowing down to the best design (aka... lots and lots of sketching before I even start to make anything!). Right now I'm inspired by art nouveau and art deco jewelry from the early 20th century.
I would love to make a million different types of things to sell in my store but I'm going to keep it simple and try to excel at one thing (metal jewelry). I may expand MollyStuff to softgoods(pillows, stuffed toys, clothing), toys, and furniture someday...

New Silver Pendant Design
New Class Started Today!
Yay! My new jewelry class started today over at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center!
I'm still very much a beginner, as I'm doing the second project one can do in the jewelry classes. I'm going to learn how to rivet 2 pieces of metal together. I started today by designing a pendant and cutting the metal out. It will be made out of base metals, copper and brass. I think it'll look pretty cool though.
